Q: Do you design
custom cards/announcements from photos that I have taken
or only images from a Portrait Session?
A: I design unique cards/announcements from photos I
have captured or photos you have captured. I can
even use professional photos from other studios; as long
as the photographer provides me with a written copyright
release on their letterhead.
Q: How long does
it take to receive the finished product?
A: I know how excited you are to share your joy, so
I will work with you to establish a timeline up-front that
meets your needs. Typically, once the design is
approved, you will have your product in 2-3 days.
Q: What type of
paper do you print on?
A: All designs are printed at a Professional Lab
using Kodak Endura Paper (in Lustre (matte) or Glossy
finish) -or- for something extra-special, images can be
made into Press Printed cards (using real ink, not
toner!).
Q: On the internet
there are so many sites that offer a similar service, how
do I know which one to choose? It is hard to compare
what they offer.
A: While it is wonderful that we live at a time that
utilizes technology to create absolutely breathtaking ways
to share our joy, I understand that it can be
overwhelming! Here are some tips to consider when
selecting someone to work on your project:
* Personalized cards are just that:
Personal. Personal references are a great way to
find a credible designer. Ask for references.
* A lot of sites will boast that they work
with a graphic designer, but you will not have access to
work directly with the designer; it is more of a marketing
tactic. Make sure you get to work directly with the
designer; like at Divine Digital Design.
* Personalized, custom designs are special because
they work with your individual images. A site that
boasts a large assortment of pre-designed images, isn't
working with your photographs to produce something
meaningful to you. Your photographs could look
completely different than the sample in a pre-designed
layout. This is close to your heart, work with
someone who understands that.
* Always make sure that you get to view an online
proof prior to the printing of your cards/announcements.
* Make sure you can customize the fonts. Each
name may look completely different in the same font.
So, just because a font looks good on the sample, doesn't
mean it will be the best font style for your information.
* Online, designs may look similar, so you
would be amazed at how different they can look and feel
once printed. Cards and Announcements are held and
touched and high-quality photo paper is something that our
senses interpret as part of that experience. Make
sure you are choosing a service that is printed on
professional lab equipment and paper.
Q: What size should my photographs be?
A: Preferably, your photos should be 1800x1200
pixels with a minimum of 300 dpi (dots per inch). If
you aren't sure what that means, don't worry - we will
work with you to ensure we are using the highest quality
photographs for your masterpiece.
Q: Why should I
choose Divine Digital Design?
A: Divine Digital Design follows a completely
different business model than most other companies in this
industry. Instead of creating a design, then letting
clients add their photos to a pre-designed layout (with
minimal revisions); we evaluate your portraits and then
create a design that compliments your photos to create a
truly unique, custom and personal card or
announcement. And the great thing is that all of
this extra attention doesn't cost extra - shop around and
you will find that our prices are the same or less than our
competition. Thank you for considering us for your
special project!
